We would definitely book again. Our stay here was great, wonderful base for exploring Windermere. We had television and fridge. Model Boat Pond is not far from the hotel. The restaurant was located within 300 metres.
-
We really loved location and rooms. Just a walk down to Villa Positano, where you can have lunch.
-
We liked location and rooms - just excellent. The host is great. Besides, there was free parking nearby. A perfect hotel in Windermere.
-

the location of the guest house is amazing, 2 minutes walk to some fantastic restaurants for all tastes. lake windermere is just minutes from here too. the glass of wine on arrival was most welcome and the cooked breakfast is just lovely. the owners couldnt do enough and were very attentive to make sure our stay was memorable.

The couple that run the guest house are amazing.
Nothing , it was perfect

Loved everything about our stay here , wine on arrival was a nice touch , couple running it were very friendly and helpful , lovely cooked breakfast , very comfy four poster bed and the whirlpool bath was excellent after a full day in the lake's . Biscuits port and whisky were available in lounge aswell as free wi fi , couldn't find a better location if you tried . Definatly come back again .
Couldn't fault it.

Very few occupancies that night. Yet we stayed in a room with a wc in a cupboard ( no exhaust ) old carpets (pets have been allowed -sorry but we could smell) lights outside our window (which lit up our room all night))Lumpy mattress( normally woud have been acceptable) . Wanted to stay an extra few night but We booked in another accomodation for 2 nights close by- . Our whole experience could have been so much better if they had put us in one of their better rooms. We couldn't help to notice that the carpet was new in most rooms except ours yet very little occupancy that night- our main objection!!!!!! The owners and the breakfast were lovely

The owners and staff were very welcoming and the location was perfect. The owners Helen and David went the extra mile to provide a warm and friendly feel to the stay.

There was a lovely welcome and help with our luggage. The breakfasts were excellent and friendly, helpful owners. It is in an excellent position for Bowness and all its attractions especially for my husband who can't walk long distances. The parking is good for Bowness.
We would prefer to have a room with a bath and with not as many steps to get there.
-
Excellent location, facilities and attention to detail within the accomodation that makes the difference when choosing a weekend break. Hands on owners who take a pride in giving a warm welcome, good customer service, a decent breakfast and recomendations on local attractions & places to eat.

Virginia Cottage - stayed as a Couple. We were recommended by friends to stay at Virginia Cottage. We were not disappointed. Wonderful position, near to the pier, restaurants and pubs. Very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water morning and evening. Bright clean room with views of the mountains. Nice to have a fridge in the room. Can't agree with the review about the tv, our remote worked very well from the bed, there was also a dvd player. The room was in keeping with the building and David said was 150 years old. Best breakfast we have ever had at a B&B everything very plentiful and replenished, lots of choice even lots of different bread & Waffles. Great value for money. We will definitely be recommending this great find and will stay longer ourselves next time.

The owners were very friendly and made one feel at home. There is a lovely sense of detail. There is complementary sherry and port in the lounge. The delicious breakfasts are produced by David the owner. The hotel is a short walk to Lake Windermere, even closer if you ake the short cut through the Belfield's gardens. There is also private parking across the road from the hotel.
The bathroom was a little small but having said that, it was very clean.
